One important thing that you should do is to look for better choices, good sources of carbs. Natural and unprocessed foods have good carbohydrates and you can consume them in place of bread, pasta and rice.
Good carbohydrates usually have high fiber content which is very good for lowering bad cholesterol. Foods that have high carbs are low in glycemic index which causes blood sugar to increase; it is nutritious and rich in minerals and vitamins.
Go for fruits, legumes, seeds, nuts, beans; whole grain breads, pastas and cereals; some dairy products, veggies and nuts. These are high in good carbs which are better options to include in your diet.
You need to be aware of bad carbs as well in order for you to select what's good from the bad. Bad carbs come from processed and refined foods because their carbohydrate content is not in its natural state. These foods are also devoid of their nutrients as a result of too much processing and refining. What happens to many of these processed foods is that they are laden with coloring, flavoring and additives.
If you'll look at the majority of packaged foods, they have too many flavorings and they are harmful because they can spike blood glucose levels and they are not easily digested. And the bad news is, many bad-carb foods are these- packaged and laden with artificial flavorings. Samples of these foods are candies, white pasta and flour, sodas.
By choosing the right type of foods with good carbohydrates, you won't fail at losing weight even with this type of diet. Exercise, sports or any physical activity is another key to succeeding at losing weight. So make sure that your weight loss program includes both.
